Springtime 2019

Spring has sprung the Daffodils are in full flower, the hedgerows are white with Blackthorn blossom and the skies resonate with bird song. The site was even visited by a Merlin, which posed for several minutes perched on the branch of a lime tree, near to the farmhouse. The approach to Church Farm Cottages CL and the Cottages themselves has been enhanced, the front field adjoining the drive, is now enclosed with post and rail fencing. At the bottom of the drive is a new bed, planted with shrubs which mark the fork, right to the caravan site and left to the cottages. The Church Farm Cottages had their annual deep clean at the beginning of the year. Improvements were made with the installation of ceramic hobs in the Orchard Cottage and Hay Loft. The Stables hob was previously replaced. The glass shelf fittings in some of the shower rooms were replaced, as were some of the electrical appliances. Our goal is to provide our guests with a home from home experience by keeping the cottages in good decorative order, ensuring we install quality appliances and fittings which are fit for purpose and by providing our guests with the little things, like the wine, that we would want in our holiday accommodation. In this we have been successful, being recognised by the award of ‘Customers Choice 2019’ for consistently achieving a Reevo rating of 9.5 or above. As of today The Stables is rated at 9.9, Hay Loft at 9.6 and Orchard at 9.4 (lower because of Wi-Fi reception which has been addressed by the installation of a hub in each cottage). Sea Holly is now let with Norfolk Cottages which has proved successful. We have a dedicated point of contact, someone on hand to deal with guest queries to ensure they have the best possible experience during their stay. We are always on hand as well. West Runton and East Runton beaches sit between Sheringham and Cromer. They are unspoilt, small and dog friendly. With the days getting longer guests are able to have walks early evening and early morning, seeing mostly dog walkers and the odd fisherman. The cottage has sea views from all of the windows and the sunsets are really beautiful. Perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. The CL Caravan Site had its annual electrical inspection in February, which it passed. The site is now maturing, the privet hedge at the end of the site has filled out and the silver birch, rowan and willow saplings have developed into trees. The shower block, like the cottages is maintained daily and any defects rectified. Our goal, being to provide our guests with a stay at our CL which we would ourselves, wish to experience. This is reflected in the reviews which are posted on the CMC web site by our guests, overall a 5 star or 5 ‘tick’ rating. This year, we plan to further improve the caravan site by installing water taps on each pitch.
